Hand wash your swimsuit

One of the most important things that you need to know is to avoid washing this through a washing machine.  The machine can actually ruin the bra cups, if your top has one.  Aside from this, the machine can also break down the lycra, which can reduce the elasticity of your swimwear.  After you handwash it, make sure to dry it off indoors.  You also have to ensure that the apparel is completely dry before folding it and keeping it away.

Use a mild soap

It is important that you rinse your micro bikini swimsuits with cool water right after swimming.  However, this is not enough.  You actually have to use a soap to remove the chlorine and the brine on it.  If you use a detergent, make sure that it is very mild.  Never use bleach because this will damage the fiber.

Do not use a dry cleaner

Another thing that you should remember is to never dry clean your bikini.  The spandex or the lycra content of your apparel will break down eventually if you use a dryer.  This will actually reduce the elasticity of the material.

Do not dry the beachwear under the sun

Although spandex is durable, it cannot withstand the extreme heat of the sun.  The heat can actually lessen the durability of the fiber.  Aside from this, the sun can speed up the fading of the color of the bikini.

Avoid using oil-based sunscreen

Oil-based sunscreen can actually damage your swimsuit.  If you cannot avoid using this, just make sure that you won’t smear even a small amount on your swimwear.  If you accidentally get sunscreen on your apparel, rinse it off immediately.

Do not lie down or sit on rough surface

It is advisable that you use a beach towel before you lie or sit on a rough surface to prevent the material of your bathing suit from being scratched.
